First step. Getting your learner’s permit.
Before applying, you must be 16 years or older and pass a Theory Test on the road rules and road safety at Service SA.
Your application fees and ID
If you pass, you can apply for your learner’s permit on the spot.
Then take a photo and give you a temporary permit. Your photo learner’s permit gets posted to you and
is good for two years.
You must hold a learner’s permit for at least 12 months.
